Never said it makes someone invulnerable; it complicates the matter.

The first police on the scene in '97 hit both gunmen multiple times and inflicted some wounds but not enough to put the shooters down.

One of the gunmen in that shooting took his own life but only after his rifle jammed. The other one only went down after SWAT arrived and overwhelmed him at close range.

And cowardly ambushes by unknown aggressors are some of the most difficult situations to deal with. The average person wants to go about having a rational day. Miscreants seem to come out of the blue (especially the ones who stayed under the radar).

http://news.yahoo.com/lone-gunmen-always-law-enforcement-challenge-121015981.htmlJoao-Pierre S. Body armor does not make you invincible - the kinetic energy would still cause injury or in rare cases, even death. A shot to the head would stop him quickly as well. It's a "what if/could have/etc" type of situation. Who knows what would have happened if someone else was armed.Nick Wonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266682624579627979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725424448439824219.post-52099298235839705662012-05-15T13:22:37.389-04:002012-05-15T13:22:37.389-04:00Thanks, bro. My answer to your question is YES because we tend to trust anything that's insured by the FDIC and assume that loans we take on are going to be as safe as advertised. If I had the money to buy a home 3 or 4 years ago, you're damned right I would have been part of the problem. I most certainly would have gotten a variable rate loan and why not? I couldn't see an end to low rates and could never fathom the bottom our economy hadn't fully reached. 2001 just seemed so low and 2004, 2005, 2006 just kept seeming like the end of those hard times; can you really turn 4 corners and NOT wind up better off? Our optimism would have gotten the better of us sooner or later and that isn't just naivety. Or it is naivety but either nobody wanted to hear otherwise or could imagine much worse, in my opinion. The First Book of Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08093268771939822386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725424448439824219.post-37424098522414827412010-08-02T00:24:43.905-04:002010-08-02T00:24:43.905-04:00That's too bad.
